Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Mandarin Duck Lotus

Painted in classical brushwork, this wall scroll brings a flower-and-bird scene into the room with real presence. It is the flower-and-bird theme that defines this scroll: familiar ground, seen as if for the first time. From a distance it's one image; up close it's mandarin duck and lotus, each worth a look on its own.

Stroke by stroke, the literati manner comes through: ink balanced with light, sparing color. Hang it for the beauty, keep it for the meaning: mandarin ducks mate for life — the emblem of devoted couples. There is high summer in this scroll — full bloom, thick green, the long light of the season. No frame required; the classic silk mounting is the finished presentation.

If you collect flower and bird pieces, this one earns its place. A study wall or a meditation corner is its natural habitat. It is a fine example of mandarin duck and lotus Chinese painting, the kind of piece that grows on you.
