Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Cloud Mist Pine

If your wall needs a focal point, consider this: a mountain-and-water landscape in a classic Chinese scroll painting. It is the landscape that holds the eye first; everything else in the scroll plays supporting role. From a distance it's one image; up close it's pine, cloud and mist, each worth a look on its own.

Classical handling shows in every stroke — ink and pale washes in the literati manner. The pine means endurance and long life, green through every winter, in the old visual language of Chinese painting. Winter's stillness settles over the scene — bare branches, held breath, quiet endurance. One cord, one nail: the scroll hangs flat and true, in the time-honored fashion.

All it wants is a nail and a peaceful wall to live on. Place it where life slows down: near the books, above the tea things, or over a low console. It is a fine example of pine and cloud Chinese painting, the kind of piece that grows on you.
